20 July 2023 — Healthy Waters Arvo!

Townsville’s waterways flow into everything we do.

Whether walking the Ross, fishing at Pallarenda, dog-strolling along The Strand, or taking a dip in Crystal or Alligator Creeks — any Dry Tropics heart is half-made of water.

But how healthy are our rivers, creeks, and coasts?

To mark the release of our 2023 Waterways Report Card, which keeps watch on the state of our local waterways, we’re celebrating Townsville’s rivers, creeks and coastqqqs, and the ways in which we connect with and care for our waters.

Join us for a free sausage sizzle and native animal displays, meet Townsville’s leading waterway organisations, learn about waterway health, and catch games and prizes for kids after school.

Healthy waters = healthy town!

Are you a water-based club or business wanting to reach our community? After-school group looking for science or water-based fun? Uni students wanting to connect with environmental experts? Get involved! Contact eo@drytropicshealthywaters.org
